The Riverwood house was situated on a relatively flat site with minimal slope—an ideal setting for construction. Marvel Homes handled both the design and construction of the project. One of the key challenges was incorporating the required On-site Stormwater Detention (OSD) tank. This was carefully integrated into the design phase to avoid any issues during construction and was also addressed as part of the landscaping, including the front boundary fence. The primary focus of the design was to ensure the home was healthy, as the occupants suffered from allergies and sensitivity to bushfire smoke. The family also operated a small arts teaching business, which required the front lounge room to be multi-purpose, featuring a large floor-to-ceiling cavity pocket sliding door. Additionally, a second master bedroom was included on the first floor for multigenerational living, and a large rumpus room was designed as the central gathering space for daily family life.
